How Transparent Laden works
Other charging apps show you a final price. We show you what that price consists of – broken down across operator/infrastructure, roaming/operations, payment processing and our margin. Each component is shown with its percentage share.
Our surcharge is always the same. That is our fixed price promise. The percentage distribution varies between charging stations, and that is exactly what we make transparent.
Our fixed transparency promise
Whatever the charging station or provider, our surcharge is always the same:
Added to the provider’s kWh price
If the provider charges by time
If the provider charges blocking fees
These surcharges are constant for every charging session. The rest of the price comes from the provider and your selected payment method.
How your charging price is calculated
Before charging starts, you see the final price and the breakdown, in both cents and percentages across all parties involved:

Where do the price components come from?
The final price consists of several components. We make every one visible:

Operator / infrastructure
The share received by the charging-station operator for electricity, infrastructure and station operation. It varies by operator and location.

Roaming / operations
Costs for roaming connectivity and the ongoing operation of the charging network. This gives you access to stations from different operators through a single app.

Payment processing
Transaction costs for your chosen payment method, such as PayPal or card. The fixed and percentage components are shown separately.

Our margin
A fixed €0.01/kWh, €0.01/minute for time-based prices and €0.01/minute for blocking fees. Our fixed price promise.
We also show provider surcharges such as start fees and blocking fees as separate items.
Impact of the payment method
Different payment methods have different costs. Before charging starts, we show the fixed and percentage components caused by your chosen payment method.
Example: PayPal
The €0.35 is shown as a separate start cost. The 1.2% is visibly included in the kWh price.
Example: card
The €0.25 is shown as a separate start cost. The 0.9% is visibly included in the kWh price.
You see the actual cost of your payment method as part of the price breakdown before charging starts.
Percentage distribution by party
In addition to the fixed surcharge, we show the percentage distribution of the final price across the parties involved. At a glance, you see:
This distribution is dynamic – it is calculated individually for every charging session and depends on the provider, charging station and payment method. You therefore know not only the final price, but also who receives how much.
How do we earn money?
We are funded from two sources:
Our primary source of revenue. Cancellable monthly.
Per kWh, per minute and per minute of blocking time, where applicable.
That is our entire revenue model. No hidden fees and no dynamic margins. The subscription fee enables us to keep the usage-based surcharge this low.
